Share your views on the future of the Eco House
If you have a spare moment, perhaps you would be so good as to take a look at the Ecohouse survey online here:

It is the next stage in the consultations leading to what will hopefully be a revisioning and refurbishment of the house.
9th May: Green Light Open Meeting
6-8pm, Wed 9th May 2012, Queens Building 1.14, Mill Lane, Leicester
Are you interested in getting involved in the planning for Green Light 2013? Would you like to hear a bit about where the festival came from and our ideas for the future? If so, you are warmly invited to join us for an open meeting on Wednesday 9th May, 6-8pm.
We will be looking at how best to take the festival forward in line with our main aims, and welcome your support. Whether you are keen to join our core organisers’ group, or take on a strand of activity to coordinate, or whether you’ve got a particular skill, interest, or connection to promote, we’d love to hear from you!
We look forward to seeing you there; please get in touch with Mel (07804017587) or Jessie (jessicamarycooke (at) yahoo.co.uk) for more info.
Greenlight @ Riverside Festival – 9th-10th June
The Greenlight festival team has been asked to coordinate an Eco Village at this year’s Riverside Festival (June 9th & 10th). The festival normally runs from late morning until about 5pm on Saturday (there is some early evening music) and during the day on the Sunday.
“Sponsored by local social landlord Riverside, Leicester Riverside Festival is a lively weekend of activities for the whole family held at Bede Park. This popular festival offers boat trips, live music, a variety of food stalls from around the world, displays and an exciting choice of activities for all ages, making it a fun packed weekend!”
We will be hosting an activity tent under the banner of “Greenlight @ Riverside.” Riverside has about 13,000 visitors across the weekend and is pretty busy and good fun.
If you would like to have space in the Eco Village, we would be more than happy to happy to have you on board. There will be no booking fees so long as you are able to deliver an activity. You can also showcase your organisation as well, but you will need to include a practical or fun activity in your offering.
If you would like to book a slot, contact Chris Shaw. Please give him a call if you need more information (m: 07794 035 566 / chris.shaw29@btinternet.com).
Or if you’d like to help volunteer during the weekend, email Jessie on jessicamarycooke@yahoo.co.uk – we’ll need assistance with running various activities, such as the swap shop, or making recycled purses on the day.

Leicester City Councils Review of Festivals
You may know that Leicester City Council is conducting a review of its Festivals. They have put a questionnaire online and are inviting feedback about their proposed strategy. Whist the Green Light festival is not mentioned (we have not received funding from LCC), there is an opportunity at Question 10 to state if you have attended any festivals this year not funded by the Council. We think this would be a good opportunity to flag the Green Light festival and for consultees to suggest that it was enjoyable and worthwhile! The Council is also consulting about whether they should set up a small pot of funding that new festivals could bid to for support. From a Green Light perspective, we think this is a great idea. Any support you could give to this view would be helpful.
The consultation questionnaire can be found here: http://consultations.leicester.gov.uk/ConsDetails.aspx?consID=426
